Can you paint your house yourself? DIY painting can save you thirty-percent over the cost of a contractor, but it’s a painstaking and time-consuming process. For every hour of labor saved, you’ll spend more money to buy paint without a discount, and you’ll have to rent equipment and purchase supplies that you may never use again. Hiring an expert is the best way to ensure the job is done right and with the least amount of disruption to your daily routine.
"Justin and his crew were top-notch, professional, and eager to please. Justin's bid was within the range of other bids, and his foreman, Victor, was a dream to work with. They were also excellent at clean, crisp lines. They painted the exterior of our large detached garage, which was no typical garage. Our 3 garage doors have X's as part of the garage door design, and they painted the X's in the trim color with beautiful precision. Not only that, but they painted the soffit on our covered deck, and below the soffit that extends 60 feet is a deep flower bed. They pressure washed the soffit and painted it, and you would never know that they had been there. Not a single part of the foliage was damaged. This is a class act company. Thanks Justin and your crew!" Thornton Home Painting
If you’re considering adding fresh paint to the exterior of your home or garage, don’t worry about vinyl siding: it can be painted! Be sure to start with clean, dry siding (this may require pressure washing and good weather). Or, you can wash the siding with soap and water instead. But the main thing is to start with a clean, dry surface so the paint won’t peel. Be sure to select a color for the paint that’s not darker than the existing vinyl color: a darker shade will allow the siding to heat up more than it was designed to withstand. Oil-based products have a reputation for durability, but latex and acrylic have come a long way. High traffic areas, such as porch floors, benefit from oil paints, but latex and acrylic are excellent choices other surfaces. They’re less expensive, require only water to clean, and most are low-VOC. Your contractor will work with you to choose paints based on your needs and area weather conditions. Thornton Home Painting
