Like metal siding, brick and masonry are easy to brush down and clean with a solution of water and triphosphate sodium — but they take longer to dry. They can be brush painted — but spray painting cost less – about $1.50–$2.00 per square foot. Both methods offer good coverage, but many painters recommend brush painting brick because it forces the paint into more nooks and crannies for a longer-lasting finish. Thornton Home Painting

Seattle Paint and Drywall I normally write reviews for two reason; the first for a job that ended as if a grade schooler did the work, and second if the work was not only completed to my specks, but the demeanor of the owner as well as the workers. I like people that will interact as well as update me as needed and complete the work in the specified time and like I said, completed to the specks in which the owner or supervisor said it would be. I contacted Patrick Sears, the owner and told him what we were looking at (paint the exterior of our home), and we set a date for Patrick to come out and give us and estimate. I was impressed with Patrick on our first contact. Patrick was very business-like but also friendly and easy to speak with. We went through everything and he explained things I wasn’t sure about. That is the way a business should be run. Because of his and his crews schedule he said it would be a couple of weeks before they could come out to do the job, which was no big deal for us. Patrick stayed in contact and we figured out the colors we wanted, he was a great help. On the day the painters arrived, Manuel introduced himself and the crew. My wife and I were really impressed with Manuel. He was friendly, knowledgeable and kept us informed throughout the project. They ensured paint chips were removed and the wood was cleaned before painting. The project (overall) was a little over two days. The last day Kevin (I think that was his name), came over and touched up whatever needed to be touched up. Like the others, Kevin was awesome! Kevin, like the rest of the team was very friendly and wanted nothing more than to ensure our job was done to our satisfaction (which it was). The touch ups were completed, everything was cleaned up, it was great. So, you ask… Would I contact Seattle Pain and Drywall again, or recommend them? Without hesitation! They were awesome! Their work was flawless and demeanor professional and interested in what we wanted. The work was done correctly, on time and the price was good. They don’t use cheap paint that will peel off in a couple of months, and the crew was friendly, respectful, and easy to talk with. We plan on having them back to do the interior before we move. Thanks Seattle Paint and Drywall. Robert and Terri, Arlington Washington Thornton House Painting
The materials of the home’s facade should be considered before painting your home. When painting flat surfaces like siding or wood, you can opt for standard outdoor paint. When painting a textured surface like stucco or brick, “elastomeric” paint is a much better choice. This type of paint can stretch more than normal paint, which allows it to bridge over small gaps and crevices, painting smoothly over texture. Thornton House Painting

I solicited 7 bids for my getting my house and garage repainted. Far and away, Runland Painting had the most professional bid and a reasonable price. I was very impressed by their technical expertise and how they explained it to a non-expert like myself. The actual job turned out great. John responded promptly to all my concerns and his team worked extremely hard. I would recommend them to anyone looking for exterior paint work. Thornton House Painters

I can't begin to describe how great of an experience we had working with Larry on an exterior restoration of our house. Our 1910 craftsman home had a big issue with paint bubbling due to many layers of incompatible types of paint used over the years. Our home still had the original cedar siding and we couldn't imagine replacing it. At first we didn't know where to start. Most contractors were either painters that didn't handle the type of surface preparation needed to deal with paint bubbling or siding specialists that only provided removing and replacing siding. Just when we were losing hope of finding the right contractor, we read a very positive review on Angie's list about how Larry and his team were able to help someone else in a similar situation. I called Larry the next day and I am so happy I did. Although we originally reached out to Larry about painting, we were very happy to learn that his team could tackle a number of other projects for our home's exterior as well. We worked with Larry to come up with a holistic plan for a complete exterior restoration that fit our budget. Coming up with the plan was a fun process that got us very excited about the project. It also made us realize how passionate Larry is about making old homes shine! In addition to the difficult surface preparation needed before painting, Larry's team also handled a number of repairs. A section of siding had rotted and they were able to replace just that section with new cedar siding (preserving as much as possible). The back corner of the house is an addition and was originally done with a different siding that didn't match the cedar used for the rest of the house. Larry's team figured out how to replace the siding in this section with new cedar siding and have it blend in seamlessly with the original by interweaving it. The result far exceeded our expecationation of what was even possible! Larry's team also stained our fence, fixed window frames, repaired gates, and the list goes on. The front porch is where we worked with Larry to go beyond repairs and try something new and exciting. The biggest change was replacing a small window on the porch with an incredible piece of antique stained glass that Larry helped source. The stained glass was much taller and skinnier than the original window. Larry's team was able to create a new window frame and install the glass in record time. Larry went the extra mile to make sure the lighting was perfect and had back lighting installed behind the window. The ceiling of the porch was also replaced with new cedar panels with a translucent high gloss stain. Larry's team also created custom caps for the posts on the stairs leading up the porch to replace the warped metal ones that were there previously. The new caps are beautifully topped with amber glass. The combination of the stained glass, the glass caps, improved lighting and the refraction off the high gloss ceiling transformed the space into something really special. We couldn't be happier. I strongly recommend Larry and his team to anyone looking to restore an older home or add improvements in keeping with the home's original style. House Painting Thornton

"My husband and I rarely find contractors or handymen that meet our high expectations. Hiring Precision Construction & Painting was the best choice we ve ever made to do projects around our home. Dmitri only uses the best equipment, products & tools, making sure his work meets his own high standards. We were so impressed that his keen eye picked up things that our original builder failed to do on our home. This young man is completely trustworthy, polite and honest. We initially had him fix a poorly installed storm door and paint the damaged area. Then we hired him to paint our deck. His work ethic is impeccable. We are now going to hire him to fix our siding which is warping and then do some tile repair work. Dmitri is a gifted man who truly cares about his reputation and quality of work. And his work for us reflects that very well. Do not hesitate hiring Dmitri. Precision Construction & Painting is worth every cent paid and then some! Randall and Karen F." Thornton House Painting
Before you start a painting job either on the interior your home, or the exterior, you’ll need to estimate how much paint to buy. There are various factors to take into consideration when deciding how many gallons of paint to buy for your project. You’ll need the square footage of the area that needs to be painted, while keeping in mind that doors and windows require a different type of paint from the walls. Thornton House Painters
